Color and Theme Project: Week 3 – Color: Orange – Theme: Doubt
I claim this scripture to overcome doubt:
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matthew 17:20
(Week ago, a friend of mine gave me this mustard seed in the little bag with this verse on it. Since doubt is so related to faith, when I saw the little seed I knew that during the “doubt week” I would be posting it… I learned that the best way to slay the giant of doubt is through faith in God and with faith, everything is possible!)

I claim this scripture to overcome doubt:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
(Today I started a second job… Going home after work I was really looking for anything orange… but nothing came up… Then I remember the verse I had already chosen for today and as I was thinking about this that God’s ways is better and is like a better world that He has for those who trust Him. I remembered then the series of paintings that I called “The Butterflies World” that it means a better place, something new, different… you know something more… The first painting has a orange background and I knew then that this was going to be the picture for today!
Don’t doubt. Trust God. He has a better world for us!)

I claim this scripture to overcome doubt:
“He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” Luke 24:38-39
(I went down the street just for one of those morning walks… Couple houses down I see this beautiful orange flowers (I wish I knew all the flower’s names…) and the fence… God spoke to me right there… When we doubt we can’t clearly see the beauty that is right in front of us… And the verse does complete the image… Jesus is telling us to get closer to Him, trust Him and see that He has beautiful things for us! What a good way to start the day! Have a blessed one! :))

I claim this scripture to overcome doubt:
“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 37:5
(Today I had to use the “What are the odds” technique… Let me try to explain (I wish I was a writer in times like this)… I had planned last night to stop by this place and take this specific picture before I went to work. But I had to go someplace else first and I ended up not being able to go to the place. Also, yesterday I was thinking about how I miss taking of people and how I wanted to go to Harvard Square just because every time I go there I feel so rich with the diversity, the business and the art all around it. I woke up during the night (that happens quite often…) and I read a comment that forhisgloryandpraise.wordpress.com wrote me suggesting that I should try to photograph people… So, guess what happened? I ended up going to Harvard Square then this guys passes buy riding his bike with a orange bag… well, I knew right there that that was the moment… I immediately connected everything in my mind… That orange bag is full of doubts and we try to go on with our lives carrying that on our backs… The ride would be much easier if instead of doubting we would trust more! What a loving God we have the privilege to call Father!)

I claim this scripture to overcome doubt:
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear” Isaiah 59:1
(How often we feel that this flower, left and abandoned… and we even doubt God’s love for us… But God is here and ready as long as we do our part.)
